BOOM, LE UPDATE
so some more ideas as of tonight. looking at investing in some wheels, likely to cost about £900 before tyres. undecided on what I want but I've been looking at 18" rotiform BLQ's which I rather fancy and arent silly money. I've also been looking at some chromed 17" banded steel wheels, £300 bargain, but the set is a 8.5j and 11j staggered set so I think the rears will be too wide to even consider. I think 8.5 and 9.5j staggered is a nice size to be fitted. Also think a cigar humidor in the boot as part of a subwoofer boot install would be hilariously cool to keep the gentlemanly theme going. more news in the form OF A DRAMATIC TEXT IN ALL CAPS from my mum. apparently the postman has sprained his wrist whilst delivering my coilovers which are currently sat on the sitting room coffee table... the top mounts, i have no idea where they are or when they'll arrive. I've found a used inlet manifold which I'm thinking of gutting completely to remove the VIS rubbish. i've read about a loss of lowdown torque and a gain of 20hp higher up with a more conventional torque curve, is that right? I also found two inches of water under the back seat and that the soundproofing stuff under the bottom of the seats was saturated. read that this could be the roof bars or the shopping chute window thing making like a vegetable and leaking. thats all for now folks, any help or suggestions welcome as always Last edited by fathead431; 23rd January 2014 at 00:27.. |

My best bud had 3SDM's on his mk4 golf, looked stunning. Would have loved to have had them on the ZT

Top mounts arrive today and are unfortunately not right for the coilovers. I need to get hold of a collar of some sorts to make the threaded part of the top mount centre inside the top mount. alas another week of waiting before I can attempt fitting, I also need to find a drill...

"likely to cost about £900 before tyres. undecided on what I want but I've been looking at 18" rotiform BLQ's which I rather fancy and arent silly money" Ive worn my string backed gloves out, got another pair for christmas . Dont like werthers, got a stock of mint imperials in the door pocket, they dont go sticky . Some of the old F^$ts on here are more than 60years older than you whippersnappers, so just you watch it mate . Last edited by DerekS; 1st February 2014 at 17:05.. |

£900 is NOTHING for a set of wheels in the scene, I could quite easily buy my 75 four times over if I bought some reasonably expensive ones... |

Sorry Robin, I'm obviously on a different planet , to me wheels are wheels, and as long as theyre round and rubbery, thats enough.
However, as with most things, to each his own . No offence intended . Its good to see someone who is proud of their investment and prepared to look after it . ..Enjoy your project. |

I know, its a bit silly, but in my world of modifying cars wheels are a status symbol. they reflect your personality and compliment your style.
http://www.rotiform.com/products_bth_concave.html http://www.rotiform.com/products_scr_convex.html http://www.rotiform.com/products_vce_flat.html those are a few examples of the sort of wheels I would like on the 75, but they're silly money. I've also been looking at some 22 spoke Mercedes/AMG wheels and tons of others including banded steels. |
