Did a bit of shopping at ASDA on the way back for some baking essentials, You can tell we're in austerity times, I'm buying lard again
Tipping it down here.
Welcome back Ian,

Ever had Faggots and Peas? I read people are buying up tins of Spam instead of tins of Salmon. All the best with the lard yum yum

Morning Andy, you are always very kind to those less fortunate and you rarely complain.

Have a great day

Yes we've always had those Brains faggots in the past, I seldom see them nowadays.

I noticed all the premium expensive joints/cuts of meat have disappeared altogether at our local ASDA supermarket, Nobody is buying them, Every shopping cart on the checkout was full of ASDA's own yellow value brand items in the yellow packaging.

I've started baking a lot to save money & freeze the pies I make, The lard is to make the easiest pastry in the world, Hot water pastry. It's the king of pie pastry

Just made a couple of Leek,Chicken & bacon pies & are now in the oven

The beggers outside the main doorway are now accompanied by tents set up, It's getting to be like San Francisco's tent city there

Cool

Afternoon all from sunny, raining and sunny again Cornwall.

Busy, busy day. Been over to England with Banana and we went to a very unhelpful National Windscreens garage. Banana has a leak around the rear window. Luckily I have a plastic tray boot insert that stops the water from soaking the boot mat. According to the chap there they cannot do anything. He did however check to see if the rear window was loose, but he said it was tight.

So a phone call to Matt Darke, and we will trundle up to Matt’s tomorrow for him to have a look.

Another bleedin' horrible day here. Soaked going to the hospital yesterday despite having a brolly and the rain is still going today, if anything even heavier. Rail passengers are being advised not to travel north of Newcastle due to flooding, road and rail closures all over the place. Thankfully I don't have to go out today.

I'm a great follower of a piece of advice Billy Connolly gave about getting old, never pass up an opportunity to have a pee!

LOL He's not wrong, I've been doubled over in pain trying to pee since yesterday, At least 8 trips to the lavy overnight I never thought a full bladder & unable to empty it could be so painful.

The persistent rain has ceased here for showers barreling through. Missus wants me to put a curtain rail up but that's not happening today because that walk to the furthest part of the hospital to the bloods from the car park has killed me.

Cool

Good morning everyone from a frosty start to the day. And not a cloud in the sky.

It is a tad chilly.
