Thats the original release firmware. The Xtrons is now on April 6 2017 version.

Just flashed a couple now before they get picked up tomorrow.

Have you asked anyone else if they can try to install TomTom Go? I believe the free version does a maximum of 50 miles per day so they wont have to pay for it to try it.

Cheers

Hi Karl,

Certainly can - and the good or bad news (depending on your point of view) is it worked fine!

Downloaded TomTom - no problems. On first use I chose UK Maps which are over 800 Mb, but they downloaded OK. SD Cards were both OUT while doing this.

A thought - at what point does yours fail? I connected a Wifi repeater to the house network before down loading as my router is not visible from the car without it. Is it possible its just a slow network causing you grief?

It seems to load, and calculate a route OK. Not driven anywhere yet, and the default Serena voice would have to go but it seems to work.

I'll suffer Serena on the way to work tomorrow and let you know if she behaves.

Maybe a factory reset on your unit and then retry?

Mike

Cheers Mike, I was afraid of this. I have downloaded maps for co-pilot, sygic etc with no problem so I don't think its my connection. Looks as if a factory reset is on the cards, a shame as I had just got everything setup how I like it never mind.

No problem.

Better a factory reset than hardware incompatibility though. Odd TomTom said it would not work.

I tried a factory reset, from the settings menu, strangely it erased all my apps but all my settings for buttons SWC etc stayed put so not sure if I did a full reset. The reason is loaded on Tom-tom and still the damn same, can't explain it, unless I have a faulty unit or corrupt firmware.

That's most odd. if it was a full reset it should not remember anything surely?

I am now officially confused... Sean or Jeff???

Mike

I was in Poole yesterday! Should have called in to experiment!

I'm afraid I'm out on this one guys, don't have an Eclipse myself and all the units that came in went out to their customers very quickly because of the delay arriving .
So I haven't had much bench time to play with them and not had to do any reset procedures or attempt loading other third party navigation apps.......sorry !
