Default Any alternative sat nav for the eclipse?

As the Igo sat nav on the eclipse is totally unusable for me at the moment I wondered if anyone had a working alternative that they could link me to that covers Europe.
I have no idea if waze includes Europe but I believe that streams the maps from the internet as you drive which wouldn't be practical, so I'm looking for Tom Tom or something similar I guess.

Anyone got something that works well?

Google maps lets you download offline areas that can cover quite big areas. I managed the coast of California on a phone with no problem.

Or SYGIC from the play store, or igo navigation also from the play store both do 7 day trial maps. That version of IGO seems to be the same navigation engine as Primo, but wit a slightly different user interface. If anything the interface is a bit cleaner than IGo primo.

Hopefully the map fix will be with us shortly, but all 3 of those have worked as stop gaps for me. I didn't really like Sygic, but some reviewers rate it highly. All depends what you have used before I think.

Have a good trip!

Mike

Just thought - Primo works ok, but you have to stop the current route and re-enter a new one on every start up, which is a realpain, but it does navigate ok once you stop it going to Belgrade.

SYGIC is ok however the interface isn't what I would call intuitive. But I'm getting old and nothing is intuitive anymore.

Once you've got your route in its pretty good.

I know the navi works once you get rid of the Belgrade route but I'm driving to Italy soon and having to enter the destination and all the set up options every time i switch the car off to refuel is just too much of a pain.

I did think of trying to install the version of Igo that I had on my last head unit but not sure if it will mess things up, I'm sure there were people on here running Tom Tom but not sure what that's like to use.
Google maps is an option but I'd need to download a lot of France, most of Switzerland and a chunk of Italy too.

As a backup I use Magic Earth on my phone and tablet.

https://www.generalmagic.com/magic-earth

It uses open source maps which can be downloaded.

They also have a pro version which uses Tom Tom maps

Have you tried un-installing the iGO and asking Sean for a link to a fresh version?

Just to fill you in.

The normal version of Primo we have wouldn't run for some reason on the new Eclipse .
The factory installed another version which is the one causing the problems.

Sean is working with the factory for a resolution to this problem

I now have Co-Pilot running on my Eclipse, after initial problems with the audio the Google TTS works, unfortunately all the co-pilot voices do not.

The Co-pilot TMC traffic is good also.
