Default Found a rust hole

So while the car was up in the air while i fit a new engine mount noticed what looked like a rust patch round the front cill few minutes later and i have a hole and hand full of rust.

I have a messaged Mr Hobbs at least the mot is not till June .

Not good! Is this on the Tourer? I know Tom does the front parts now, don't know how busy he is tho'. I'm just waiting for my offside rear sill to start showing serious signs of deterioration, nothing obvious yet

Scott is that hole on the chassis or the inner sill ? have you looked into the hole how bad is it ?

Hi mate.

That's not looking good.

I'm sure that Tom can sort it...but when? Last I heard he was busy, busy, busy.

Hopefully before the June Nano so we can admire his work?

Hi Steve

More the chassis, it's by the sub frame mount, although that's solid , I could see flakey bits of rust which when I pressed it went into a large hole didn't go much further but you can see it's rusty round it

I'm a wee bit scared to investigate my Car thoroughly


still it's all fixable - and i'm sure there are more than one or two folks capable of the Repairs

I was told by the Tester at MOT - "we are only allowed to use thumb pressure" to test the integrity of such areas maybe we need testers with stronger thumbs.
