Default fuelpump

Hello, my car, 2.5 petrol, will not start.
It cranks over but will not fire up. No power to the fuelpump, fuse no.20 is oke.
Where else can I looking for?
Thanks for answering, Gerard

No power to the fuel pump, you've lifted the rear seat and measured this? Next step, look at the connector on the fuel pump and note the location of a white/purple and black cable. Remove the connector and apply external power (12v) plus to the white/purple pin and minus to the black pin. You should now hear the fuel pump operate, does the car start?

V6 and 1.8 ECU's are sealed and waterproofed - only diesels get the symptoms of a drowned ECU.

On the 1.8(my car) the ECU on receipt of signals from the crank and cam sensors will fire up the fuel pump - not sure of the V6 but you may have a failing Camshaft sensor - i say this as you say the engine is cranking and the rev counter flickering - if it was the crank sensor the there would be no turnover and the rev counter would be still.

Easiest thing for the OP to do would be put the car on a code reader. If he hasn't got one then in his location I would suggest Toaf which can read the whole car and even activate things like the fuel pump relay.

yes, Car starts. It was the relay for the fuel pump that stopped working.
Placed a new one.
About the TOAF, doesn't work.
Program installed but by settings needs a com port it stays clear.
Tryed several uninstall and install but cannot get a com port.
And in the laptop by device manager I have a ?mark by the usb device.
So have no drivers for the VAG-KKL cable.
Does anybody know how to handle this?
Thanks, Gerard

Thanks for the update - pleased you got it working.

Re Toaf you could try this link for drivers http://www.totalcardiagnostics.com/s...ble-on-windows

or have a word with member "Hogweed" who has very recently installed Toaf, got it working, and has worked with Windows. I can't help with drivers, as a Mac user I have zero knowledge of such strange things.

Regards

You need to download the serial-USB driver from the TOAF website.
