Default Project Spectre

Hi everyone,

We have just saved this car from an uncertain future. It was written off as CAT C a year or so ago and consequently ended up at a scrap yard in Scotland.

A lad from Scotland, Stephen Golder, rescued it from the yard in the hope being able to restore it. Sadly he didn't have the time to do anything with the car so listed it for sale.

My dad purchased the vehicle and I will pay for the repairs. A joint father/son venture which will be nice.

It's a pretty straightforward job and the most expensive bit of course is the respray of the front end.

The car is number 2 of 9 Spectre 75's built and possibly 1 of only 2 known to survive?

Anyway the car is in very safe hands but here's some pictures of the car in Scotland before it gets loaded onto a recovery truck and shipped south to Durham.

This will be an interesting one!

Certainly a reasonable project...

I mean it looks worse than it is really, interior needs re-assembling, front bumper, wings, bonnet and crash bar will have front sorted.
Respray and then a good service and the usual plenum clean will probably have this thing fine again.
I mean it'll probably need a good look over all the rubbers and things, but what a colour!!

Cheers Tom. Nice to have support.

Yes I thought it was a reasonable project. Nothing too tricky but the car nearly had the crusher treatment because if the minor damage. I'm guessing a 20-30mph shunt

Lovely project; should be a steady job, but are you able to start it now or after the winter?

That's a lovely colour and that is where the expense starts, very expensive paint and I imagine a nightmare to match up. I hope you can save it. Good luck.

The painting will be done after winter but I should be able to reassemble interior. Main thing is saving the car which is what we have done

Good luck with the restoration, it would be a shame to lose one with such an unusual colour.

I see it was supplied originally by Parkautomobile. We purchased our diesel Connoisseur new back on 2002 from them and my current 2002 V6 Connoisseur which I purchased 8 years later was also supplied as new from them although I purchased it locally in Prestwick

Both our 75’s were built just a few days apart and I’ve often wondered if they shared the same transporter when being delivered to Parkautomobile in East Kilbride.
Our diesel 75 was replaced with the Jaguar XF which was written off just a month ago.

Cool

Congratulations on saving an absolute beauty. Stunning colour, my 2nd favourite monogram colour.

Nice one to save. I've only ever seen ZT-T in that colour, we sold that one new at the Rover dealership I worked at. Wonder where that one is now?
