Default Rear seat back doesn't clip in

Noticed last night that the backrest on my 75 doesn't seem to clip in properly when in the upright position. I can get it to clip in On the passengers side but the drivers side it just won't go.

Anyone else had this problem?

Default Backrest

Happens in my tourer but pulling it forward a couple of times and slamming it jolts the catches. Brutal I know.........but works for me !

Lift your backseat up at the front, then your backrest in place en push the seat back, that's the best way to do.

There's 2 hooks at the back of the squab which must be hooked in first.
Then the front 2 clips will line up better .
Great strength is required to push the wire frame onto it's rear hooks.
I've made a special tool.

There's 1000's of 75's driving round with unsecure rear seats
(probably due to intank pump changes and not finishing the job off properly

I think OP may be referring to the upright backrest rather than the squab. The top catches on these can also give problems. Perhaps OP can confirm.

My mistake !
Still got to get round to sorting our ZT back out......Its been jammed shut for 5 years!!!
But not clipping in like OP's is an MOT fail.
