Default Central locking problems

2004 Rover 75 1.8T, Symptoms are as follows:
1) Front passenger door lock scrap, new ordered from Rimmer bros
2) Both rears react correctly to central locking button on centre console.
3) Driver door does not react to button on centre console.
4) Unlocking driver's door with key will only intermittently open rear doors
5) Locking driver's door with key will not lock rear doors
6) Both keys will unlock rear doors with remote button but not driver's door
7) Neither key will lock any doors with remote button (diode on key does light up)

From this I gather that both solenoids in driver's door lock are dead (or wiring problems).

Also the microswitchin driver's door lock is only working intermittently. (Pointing towards general wiring problems for this lock.)

Question is why does not locking function work from key remote buttons?

Also I have a problem with the boot lock release. Half the time it works fine, the other half is repeatedly bangs away without releasing the lid. Any ideas?

With the boot issue, just adjust the two rubber boots stays so it sits a little higher. One on each side as you have the boot open

You could try re-syncing the keys, or even a Norwegian re-set (sorry, an expression coined by a Swede of course ) https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=305142

Sounds like you need to replace the driver’s door actuator assembly. Use the search for more info.

Good luck

Thanks guys. Lifted the striker a bit, looks like that cured the problem. Just hope the striker does not slip down again. At least the screws are in good shape. I also did a Swedish reset (yep in Norway we call it Swedish reset ) and now the only thing not working is locking the driver's door by remote. Everything else works fine. I can live with that, a new lock costs 150 Euros all in.

For how long was Adam in paradise? The car will not respond to the remote after a drive. Hard reset fixes it and I can lock/unlock a number of times until next time I drive it. Any ideas? Central locking unit due for replacement?

This may sound strange but I do seem to recall this fault from another member a while back. It ended up being a blown fuse . cannot for the life of me remember where the fuse was but numbers 36, 32 and 8 ring a bell ( Maybe somebody else can confirm this.)

Does the car beep (mislock indication) when you try and lock it, following running the engine?
And do you have a sun roof?
If you do, you could have problems with the ews unit not liking to have occasional showers from leaving sun roof drains.

No beep and no sunroof. Just nothing responding. I will check all the fuses again.
