I've never seen one used. Left hand in front of cap, right hand pushes cap out using virtually anything round and blunt that fits! A hammer shaft is my tool of choice. Those pesky "proper" tools tend to chip the edge by the aperture.
Plenty of aftermarket on ebay if it is a must have - search "centre cap removal tool".

what type of caps do you mean? the ones covering the wheel nuts or the plastic centres?
