Default "You won't get parts for Rovers"

Within a year of Rover's collapse, prices were falling as people said there would be problems getting spare parts in future. My 75 is 17 years old and I took it to Souls at Olney at 8.00 this morning to repair a broken wire in the air conditioning. I told them it also has a knock from the front suspension if they had time to look for it. They messaged me at 11.35 to say the air con was sorted and a drop link needed replacing but they had got one and fitted it and the car was ready for collection.

I doubt you would better that with any current car! Well done Souls!

Souls have always had a very good reputation - believe Phil T4 used to work there, and may still do so.

Thanks Bob, must say that arb link was one of the easiest ones I have changed for a long time!
Your car spoilt me as the pair I changed later in the day were right pigs and had to be cut off.

My Rover 75 was originally supplied by Souls of Olney and is still going strong, it's starting to get a little bit tired now approaching 170k, nothing too serious just a couple of electrical gremlins that could do with chasing off lol. It's running fine so I'm not too concerned about the gremlins.

Take it back to Souls, Martyn. I expect they would be pleased to see it again and I am sure Phil could sort out your gremlins.

My Copperleaf was from Souls of Olney, and it's marvellous.

Interestingly, while watching Bangers and Cash, the boss Matthewman ( damned if I can remember his first name at the moment ), was showing a number plate that was still on the car since new, bearing the marque logos, dealer details and phone number.

My car still has the original plates as fitted to the car at the dealers when new.

Mr Matthewson reckons the original plates adds value to cars.

I'd like to think he's right.

Phil's a great bloke and he's helped me out in the past and always given me advice but I don't want to trouble him when he's working on cars all week, he needs his free time as we all do. I've no doubt he could eradicate my Rover gremlins but I live in the north west Midlands so it's a bit of a trek also puts a spanner in the works.

Hopefully when the Nano meets here restart I might be able to get it sorted then, electrickery is just that to me

My 75 from Souls still has its original plates on, as far as I know they've not been changed.

Ah, that explains things Ceedy. Souls must have got mixed up and given you my 260 and I've got your CDTi Tourer. Shall we swap?
