I had a drive of one and it’s a very nippy car and well built too with lots of toys. Auto box is nice and smooth, ride is firm but not unpleasant. I was surprised at how large it physically is. My only concern would be the longevity of the engine because other manufacturers seem to be having problems with these small engines

New Focus ST has also been plagued with HG issues.

Ha ha, I knew there would be a V8 there! I remember years ago the same debate with diesel engines for ships big slow reving against smaller faster reving units. There is only one way forward in the battle for efficiency, and that is smaller units with smaller friction losses, and to compensate for size, -charging- one way or another. The trick is obviously reliability, but it will get there. With 7 years of warranty, and a service plan?, it is unlikely that you will suffer as an original purchaser. I see Hyundai doing the long warranty here, and they are good! But I see what you are saying. Just got my 560SEC, so I'm in you boat. I like big engines! Old fashioned, I guess.

There were 2 MG ZS demonstrators at the Bywell classic car show yesterday. They were surprisingly quite nice and on a Hyundai / Kia level and certainly better than the equivalent Dacia Duster.
The salesman said the 1.0 petrol was just as powerful as the 1.5 diesel if not more so. It was much the same looks wise to most other makes of SUV but is keenly priced so it might get a good few sales.

Happy with my MG ZS. Nice sized car, with a better fit and finish over my old MG6 I had.
