It makes a surprisingly huge and satisfying difference, I too love the shape of the wooden wheel. It looks so good now, and whilst I do like walnut in a ZT, coloured wheel suits the modern MG better I believe.

Not piano black, but VW/Audi pearl black, but will give you an idea

Looks fab

I'm the other way, I find the feel of the wood wheel uncomfortable, and have standard ZT in the ZT and a contemporary wheel in the 75.

Mrs MB's Classicasseur SE has a smokestone and walnut wheel, and I find it hard on the hands after a longish drive

As a different twist on things, I potted this fitted to a ZT......

Cracking job Steve!

I have been considering something similar, due to the shortage of decent condition black oak wheels that don't require the sale of a kidney.

Maybe even a hydrodip. Now there's a thought.

Thanks for the positive comments chaps , looking at it in proper daylight it could have been a bit better finished but 1st go and all that is not bad , it also helps to plug in the cable for the horn,c/c..etc before putting the air bag back on .....
