Ah ok, and yeah thinking about it you're probably right, although I haven't seen the hardware specs for the D99, I should probably look at them

Fair enough, that makes me feel better about it

The car has the LowLine satnav (Symphony) system in it at the moment. As far as I am aware the head unit has never been removed. So I'm hoping it wouldn't be a huge job.

Do you know what sort of connectivity the head unit has with an android phone as opposed to an iPhone/iPod? At the moment I use Tasker on my Samsung Galaxy S2 (rooted) that runs a script that mounts the SD card to USB automatically without having to faff around with any menus.

Of course, I suppose I could just use an SD card in the actual head unit or something.

The only connectivity to any non-Apple device would be via BT.

I use tasker also to switch on my HTC's hotspot once the headunit BT connects.

Hi, after installing my new D99 I need, at the moment, 2 things to get done.
First, how do I get the steering wheel controls about volume working? I tried the 2 wires from the car, blue-purple and blue-orange to connect by different ways to the unit but that doesn't works.
And second, by touching the NAVI button there comes an android screen with Chinese characters.

Can somebody give me a clue?

Hi Teddy,

You should be able to go into the settings icon and change the language back to English or just re-flash the ROM that come with the unit, this shoudl cure your problem.
