Estate Glass release

Has anybody had experience of getting to the microswitch that releases the Glass section of the tailgate ?

I need to have a look at mine as its not worked since the cold weather and i think maybe water has got inside and caused a problem

You'll probably have to dismantle the wiper arm. Flip the cover off and remove nut and arm.

Be careful, as the switch has two wires that are not very long.

I've only every tried this with the glass open.

Just to update.

Because of the cars artificial intelligence

, the glass started to release at various random times (normally whilst driving) so at one of these times i sprayed around the area with nylon lubricant where the wiper engages to the motor and its been perfect ever since.
