I've also had the X-power oil 10w40 in the last 2 changes. Have to say that initially the engine seems noisier than previous oil which I think was Castrol.

Oil for the ZT
[quote=Typhoon190;437063]I've also had the X-power oil 10w40 in the last 2 changes. Have to say that initially the engine seems noisier than previous oil which I think was Castrol. That's interesting as i have not used any other make of oil to compare, my engine does not sound "noisy" but it's due a full service in April so i think i will try Castrol or Mobil just to see......One wee question does anybody think there is any advantage using the fully synthetic oil say like castrol edge over the semi-synthetic 10/40 ?

fully synthetic, with it's cleaning properties help reduce the carbon build up if used in a engine from new. it can be used in an older engine, use a good quality engine oil flush first. |

Oil
That's good to know as since i change the oil and filter every six month i did not think the fully synthetic (say castrol edge) was worth the extra- I have been using X-parts own oil semi-synthetic 10-40w but i am going over to Mobil 1 10-40w at my next service...........ps I have been using Wynn's engine flush every oil change, but not sure if thats too much.

Is the x-power oil still produced?
If not then surely it's out of date by now..
