"Carlotta had a tail wind on the last journey? Or you drove like granny?
Hope you get the probs fixed."

Not at all: from the beginning to the end of our holiday week lots of roads were very 'slopy' and winding, but no tail wind nevertheless.

Lots of kicks-down while overtaking...

And as I boycott toll motorways, just a short 100km of a free one on the first day.
Unbelievable and incomprehensible.

Thank you for your support, but I put faith in Lady Carlotta. I guess it's another response of the carelessness she was victim of.
But it's now over and I'm confident in our common future.
Some of my French friends, especially the British cars owners weren't surprised: 'Always like that with our English cars. Ever making fuss & doing airs & graces like old ladies'!

BTW just done 1k mls in 7 days!
Exactly the same distance I've done in Scotland 2 years ago with a rented Fiat 500 during a similar period, but the sloping roads were far less easier than with Lady Carlotta!
A very bliss to easily overtake good modern cars on hard ways up!
I must admit I was then a good ... when ... weren't in view indeed!

Not so bad for a not so old lady in blue...

So I've done 1k mls during the last week and I noticed that my steering column & wheel were juddering when pushing rather hard on the brake pad.

It was weird because I haven't noticed that problem until the week before with my worn Contour alloys with their brand new Goodyear!
But suddenly I'd an idea

Just before departing, I'd put on my new nice Crown alloys with their rather used & poor Chinese tyres. The latter yet acceptable in the middle, but unequally worn on the edges. I've put the less good ones on the front and the better on the back.

One more precision: front disks & pads were brand new in September 2017 & the back ones were changed for new ones 2 months ago by my skilful mechanic.

Nevertheless brakes are very good & never failed even in front of the deer 3 days ago!

Could that be those uneven Chinese tyres?
No need to say I'd intended to have the tyres swapped and put the good ones on the good alloys.

"A R75 v's Fiat 500 (new type?). I know which I'd prefer to do 1,000 km in!
I hope the tyre swap sorts out your juddering."

A brand new Fiat 500. Thanks to her sluggish uphill speed we could admire at leisure the landscape!

On another hand for the first time Lady Carlotta exploded the 4.2k revs that was her maximum so far and once brilliantly reached 6k revs thanks to her new VIS motors.

Thanks to my little Chinese device, any bluetooth phone play list can be connected to the genuine Rover radio I've kept as well as one memory stick on the device, plus the 6 CD changer. Enough for a large journey.

As you may have noticed above, a 75 V6 2.5 (as well as a ZT) looks rather thirsty. However thanks to the ethanol bargain price (40% of the 95 ron price in France) it remains very reasonable: Lady Carlotta drinks for around £15 every 100 miles (around 8€ / 100 km). Not too bad for a V6!
A bliss!

Back fasteners gremlin sorted
My genuine fuse box cover back fasteners being a little too short, I've solved the problem making one with two of them, a thread inside and a good glue maintaining both parts together.
In the end I've added 10mm to the initial length, increased from 23mm to 33. Not very pretty, but solid & efficient:

Here is now the result:

As you may notice, the mechanic (?) who changed the carpet wasn't a delicate expert when cutting it around the holes...

But do you have eyes at the end of your toes, don't you?
Nevertheless it works!

My new exhaust line
It's arrived and I hope it will be fitted at the beginning of next month.
But the wrapping hadn't been reinforced on the jutting out edges, it was slightly partly opened and scratched, as well as another part of the back box slightly dented & scratched as well.
You may see dent & scratches on the front right part of the back box (below the shining corner) on the pic below.

I've sent 2 messages with pics, no answer. The guy is Mijexhaust on Ebay.
Rather rude & unfair of them.
'We are not amused'...

Obviously it doesn't interfere to the efficiency of the stuff, but I think nobody would be glad to buy a new car with a body slightly dented & scratched, would they?

Nevertheless I can't wait to hear the new sound & hoping that the unrestricted back box will help to increase a little my mpg.
Hope springs eternal...

All is well that ends well

Finally Mijexhaust answered: as it might have been expected, the boss was out at that period of the year.
Very kind even he denied any responsibility in dents & scratches. But I told him that 'scratches done without any damage on the wrapping they're located under are very unlikely'.
Finally he made a very fair offer sent me a £65 refund.
A very gentleman, I must add.
Besides an obvious quality of the stuff, I think such a seller is to be highly praised & commended.

No joy! Any idea?
So I took off the boot trim, the clips and the cir-clip.
Nothing is looking wrong apparently and both bits of plastic are still in place and look good (even the picture isn't so good).

But I guess the circular copper (?) spring - even still in place - may have snapped at least at one end.
So I put it back.
Then same work in reverse order.
I tried once: miracle! that worked again. Twice same luck. Thrice barrel is turning with no end again and again. Electric indoor latch working fine as usual.

So I repeated all the entire process once more. Now it refuses to work with the key, not even the first time. Electric indoor latch working fine as usual.

My guess is some barrel element may be tired and worn.

Could you help?
I would be deeply happy and grateful because I'm becoming upset with that blasted locking even I can do without the key!
But what will happen if the indoor electric mechanism occurs to die?

Your.problem is well explained here:
https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=128721

Thank you for the link for the sake of everybody. I'd already seen it.
Hence thanks to a kind mate Dave who pointed me on the only opportunity on the Bay (British part), I've took the bet and ordered it. Not cheap £25 + £6.50 postage, but I do not want oh no! to have anything out of order on Lady Carlotta!

Received in the morning & fitted at once under the bonnet.
70 Ah, 720 A & AGM technology. Austrian product.

Yes, I know, a bit strong for a 75 that isn't start & stop: but I don't want any underpowered battery, it does no good.
You can forget it in a corner of your garage during a whole year, nothing wrong, it's still working fine without any charge in the mean time. Fab, isn'it?

Not cheap (149€ - £133) (a bit less for me: I'd got a 5€ voucher) but it should last at least twice as much (the advertisement reads 3 times) as a standard one.
I do want the best for Lady Carlotta! Never mind when it's worth the money.
I bought a similar one two years ago for my 25 (less powered indeed) and I'm delighted.

My original cheap battery (don't know how many years it was old...) had had recently some difficulties on the start up (nothing at all at the first key turn. I had to try once more to hear the starter & start the engine), probably due to the very long lasting hot weather here, and I didn't want to have a breakdown in the middle of nowhere.
