I checked at Kwikfit yesterday and they thought they could get the right box and fit it for £115 the same day.
The stainless place in Birmingham quoted £320, but with all of these if the silencer is a bit special they may be incorrect.

Not sure if anything special fitted, but OEM is below:
Part No: WDE000550 Rear assembly exhaust system - R75 Saloon 1.8T £150.26 + VAT
On back order at Rimmers.

Only the 190 has the valve in the silencer to provide less restriction at higher revs, although the main concern with the 1.8T IIRC is that has a larger diameter exhaust than the NASP 1.8 so make sure they supply the right one.

A sports car-nut friend of mine reckons that the only reason for the valve in the MG is to make the exhaust noise sound sportier!!

May need replacing as outer skin on back box has gone.
No need to replace John. The inner skin will last a couple more years yet, and if it's not actually leaking it will still pass the MOT.
