Default How Do I fix This? 03 CDTI - HeatSheild??

Hi all,

After many weeks of a rattle coming and going, i thought it was time to check it out.. I put her up a ramp and got under the car.

This rattle happens a little when i turn the car on, but loads more when switched off.

The picture shows the Large Pipe running under the car, with what looks like a Silver Heat Shield surrounding the pipe? Anyway, the bolts and still all secure BUT the heat shield looks to have sheered off from the bolts and its basically hanging. How do i fix this ?! New part required, could a novice replace this ?

THanks all !!!

Any hardware shop will sell washers, just get some big ones to clamp it down.

Same thing happened to mine and this fixed it.

If you slap some sort of sealant on the washer before fixing you should delay the corrosion that causes this sort of failure.
