Doctors Diagnosis!
Just got my darling wife June back from the hospital after her operation, she was diagnosed over a year ago by her GP with a prolapsed womb, as Les Dawson would mouth ‘Women’s troubles’ (lifts breast with right forearm).
She had been treated with a ring pessarie all this time and as she is getting no younger our GP advised her to have an operation. She had an appointment with the consultant and he told her that they would either repair the problem or give her a full hysterectomy depending on what they found inside. So like a dutiful husband who is absolutely useless around the house, I was girding my loins for a six week stint of looking after June when she was discharged instead of her looking after me! It was with some trepidation that I visited June in the evening after her operation, the consultant had just been round to tell her that there was no need for a hysterectomy, or a repair, because the problem was caused by a cyst which he had lanced, drained off and stitched. So all this time they had been fitting the ring pessarie to a cyst, some diagnosis eh! I’m glad our doctor isn’t a car mechanic. By the way did you know you shouldn’t put white things in with a dark wash? Just one of my little faux pas, I told you I was rubbish around the house! |

Only one thing to say LP, thank COD she does not have to go through the severe trauma associated with a major operation.
So many people I know personally that actually have come out of the operating theatre in worse shape than they went in. In no way does that excuse the doctors for missing the point, second opinions are always an option and should always be used IMHO. |

Three years ago, after years of 'women's problems', SWMBO was told a full hysterectomy was her only real option. This was heartbreaking news for both of us as we had put off having a family over the years for various reasons. I managed to arrange to work from home during her reccuperation to look after her, but even now she suffers from health issues as a result. In the three years since, she's been to several specialists at two different hospitals and it looks like, finally, there may be some hope of alleviating her problems.
Keeping a positive outlook is the best thing. And a sense of humour. After all, I did tell her that if she had been a horse....
