Anyone done tappets on an A series? I can't find the procedure? Is it engine hot or cold?

instead of rule of 9, a slightly quicker way is 2 at a time - get both rocking on 1 and set the opposite 2 (4). Quality engines

My god, not done an A series myself in almost as long. 1986. Have two sat in the garage now, one of them in bits. That's the 803 cc version, plus a late minor one (is it 1063?) that is partially seized.
