Default leak, rear nearside.

Hi, I wonder if anybody could shed a light on my problem.I have(from new) a 2004 Rover 75 connossieur. I have read and studied previous posts relating to my problem, which are very helpful and informative. I had a lot of water in the dip underneath the front passenger seat and some more behind the seat. I dried all this up with newspapers. Then over the next 3 days I didn't drive the car, and had a few light showers, and still dry. Then there was some heavy overnight showers, and hey presto, soaked again.Front carpet, upstands and boot area completely dry except a little wet where the seat belt anchor is, but that could have soaked up from the dip. Checked the door rubbers, all OK and dry. Rooflight drains all working properly. Any suggestions as to the cause, your help will be much appreciated as Winter is nearly here. Freddie.

I think the front screens can leak but I'm not to sure where, at the base I think.
Can you remove the panel that covers the passenger footwell fuse panel and check that area?

Have you checked your plenum? Do you hear a sloshing sound when going round corners? If you do, you plenum are full of water.

It will be the sunroof drains have no doubt about that, if the tube that exits through the bulk head behind each front wheel arch liner is blocked with crud you will get back flow into the cabin.

I did an extensive how to on the sunroof drains but sadly it is another thread that as been ruined by Photo Bucket buying out tinypic.

Basically now all my how to threads are completely useless

Thanks for reply but all sunroof channels are fine. After rain last night, more water in rear and under seat. Very wet at the seat belt anchor though. Checked all door seals and look ok. Cannot figure this one out. Getting desperate as rain forecast next couple of days. May have to sit in car.

Plenty to choose from.....rear light seals , rear window clips , boot seal , waist trims , vents in rear.

Most can be cured with sealant or captain tolleys creeping crack cure , and new light seals are available.

When I was chasing my boot leak I removed all the trim and gave everything a light dusting of talc and the leak shows up straight away after it rained

Thanks for your input, but it is none of them, they are all fine. May have to ask my Rover garage and empty my wallet.

They will be until they can no longer take anymore water, that is when you will see them wet because of the floor pan the water makes its way to the rear first, my money is still on the sunroof drain tubes unless you have cut of the duck bill behind the wheel arch.
