Imagine you'll be playing with that camera gear for a while Rod, lot of stuff for not a lot of dosh. I bought a DSLR and lenses a few years ago, older one. I added a battery pack, fixes to the bottom of the camera and accommodates two batteries, basically doubles the camera's "run time".

Thanks for the suggestion on batteries Steve - definitely worth following up.
I do have some ancient knowledge of SLR cameras - an East German Praktica MTL5B manual camera with a half dozen or so different lenses - back in the late eighties. It's still packed away in a box in the loft somewhere

Hah! Join the club, I've got a Practica set up as well, like yours its lurking in the loft somewhere.

Do a search for Canon EOS450D battery grip on Ebay Rod. They come with two battery holder carriages that slide in, one for 2 x camera batteries and one to power the camera with AA batteries should the need arise.

Not mine but a pic of one for yours:

If I remember I've got two bodies (BX20 + BMS spare), God knows how many lenses, several flashes. There's someone on Ebay trying to sell a BX20, flash, couple of lenses and a bag for £225 . . . . good luck with that!

I don't know and neither does she.Waiting to hear from the specialists at another hospital atm, see what the plan B is, if there is one.She had the fluid drained last week, and was able to eat almost normally for a couple of days, but it has built up again, and she is unable to eat anything other than a couple of mouthfuls.
Saw her tonight, and although sitting in a chair and being chatty, rather than being in bed, is very fed up. She just says if only she could eat and drink normally, she could cope better.
She is 82, and up until about 8 weeks ago, a very fit active, and sprightly 82, who you wouldn't;t take to be a day over 70.
A heathy eater, only an occasional drinker, always looked after herself, took loads of vitamins and supplements, for what? It boils my .... to think of those who abuse their bodies with alcohol, tobacco and drugs, yet they live a long and problem free life, and the innocent are the ones that get struck down. I know that is not the case all the time, and not saying that those who abuse their bodies should be punished , but they are the ones who chose to take the substances, knowing fine well the risks involved in doing so.
I shall probably be absent from the zone for a bit, apart from a morning and evening visit.
I am worn out trying to work, lead my life and visit each night.
News came today that nothing more can be done and she is to move to a hospice for palliative care. We knew this would come but not as soon.

Don’t know where to put myself atm.

All I can say is try to keep your mind occupied Rich, try not to dwell on it. If you need time to yourself we'll still be here, you know us, in with the fixtures and fittings.
