Spare Plug behind front bumper (05) Tourer Diesel

Having taken off my front bumper/grille I have found a spare plug which is anchored to a purposely fitted tag. What is it for please?

I suspect it's to take the ambient temperature sensor for a Fuel Burning Heater.
