Simple reason for all this:
A Torx bit will 'fit' a Torx Plus or a Ribe bolt, But a Torx Plus or Ribe bit won't fit a Torx bolt. It's in the shape and width of the 'points'. A Torx Plus or Ribe fits the seat bolt socket more snugly than a Torx bit does. A Torx bit will work OK, but it puts more stress on the pointy ends than they're designed for. EDIT: Having Looked at my bolts closely and compared them with the well fitting Ribe bit I bought, I think the seat bolts are Torx Plus type. The Ribe type has a cornered trough rather than curved. RAVE says use a Torx bit. Basically, use what works. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 26th August 2019 at 21:40.. |

...........and if these bolts haven't been out before, be prepared for some hard work as they're put in with some sort of thread locking compound.
