Default Looking for a battery for my diesel

looking around at the forum I fond this thread https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=245211 which lead me to this battery https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/varta/e44/ wanting to check it was right I went to Euro Car Parts and checked, it shows this battery https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/R...ebb7495&000020

I am sure I'm looking at the same battery but being almost £100 more am I missing something?

Even if the same I don't know the CCA figure

macafee2

I think the CCA is 780, is that enough for the winter. the handbooks does not mention cca

If you subscribe to the Euro car parts email newsletter they have regular flash sales of batteries at 30% to 50% off. Don't forget they will give you a few pounds or the old battery.

Having said that, if you shop online you will find batteries cheaper, but of course a hassle returning them if there's a problem

Same battery as far as i can see CCA 780 on the data sheet from Varta and on the photo from euro car parts
euro car parts advertise it as 74 AH where it is actually 77AH
780 CCA is quite good
Don't see how you can lose?

You can buy batteries for the diesel online for around £45 delivered.

Battery guarantees to me are a bit of a con.

Some years ago I bought a good quality Bosch battery for my 45 with a 4yr warranty. After 3yrs it failed and when I spoke to the retailer I was offered 25% of the price I paid off a new battery from them (once the battery had been returned to them, tested and deemed faulty) as I'd deemed to had 75% of its 4yr life so my refund was 25%.

Now, I only buy the cheapest battery I can find, local or online because if it fails within a year it has to be replaced and anything over a year I class as a bonus (the last £48 inc p&p cheapie I put on is now on its 4th year and still going strong).

i've just bought a Yuasa Silver5 year battery from Halfords priced at £120

HOWEVER....

i only paid £80 for it
look for the cheapest price online and they will price match on batteries, much easier to return if theres any problems in 4 years time
