Nothing warrants that kind of price, look at what else you can buy with around £7k from a main dealer, not ebay

Brand new Kia Picanto with a seven year warranty £7895

Brand new Skoda Citigo for £8275 that has a three year warranty

2007 range topping Skoda Octavia Laurin and Klement 1.9 diesel with 57k miles for £5990 again with a warranty (in fact there are loads of Skodas for around that price that have sensible mileage and one here for £4500)

If you venture onto ebay sales £7k buys you,

A BMW Z4 £6650

A 2011 VW Passat £6500

2010 BMW 320D M Sport £7300

Safe to say, if I was buying a replacment car for that kind of money, I would buy all of the above before the car linked to in the opening post.
You are spot on Richard and it would probably be the best way to go if you just want a car, but I would say this car is aimed at those looking for a really nice Rover 75. It's aimed at a niche market .

Wow, that is a niche, it is no small, nobody has ever been able to find it.

If anything half decent for sensible money comes along, nobody is interested.

This car is a poor spec, everyone slates the 1.8 and it's nearly 20 years old, what a great deal, how can we all resist?

This is assuming full service history, which it won't have, more than 6 months on the MOT and two sets of keys.

If you only have one set of keys, they are prepared to offer just £50

As much as that! I hope you have e-mailed the seller so he can 'cash-in' on the £100 before the 7 day window runs out!!!!!

Just checked and they value my car at £135!

So as that is 35% more than the low mileage one, does that make mine worth £ 9443.25 on ebay?

If someone did buy this car if they were unfortunate and be involved in an accident then the insurance company would only offer trade price for it if it was a write off
Maybe not as low as we buy any car but you'd have to fight to even get a fraction of the sellers asking price despite the mileage or condition.

It's not only this car, many other cars with low miles and higher price tags fall into the same trap.

Well worth taking into consideration when buying

Russ

He says finance is available.

I would love to see the finance company who will secure that much more than its market value against the car.

I wonder how many years it would take for a car like this to be worth its asking price.

Based on sold classic Rover prices, a very long time.

The 40 year old bracket isn't really fetching near that price. They struggle to achieve half that price.
