If you are using a separate to the PC modem/ router, then yes, that is your problem. Right click on the networ adaptor and select 'uninstall' - that will remove the drivers, allowing you to then redect it and install the correct drivers for the device, by clicking 'Action', then 'scan for new hardware'.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Windows should have a default set of drivers for most Network cards but if it does not you will need get a copy of the drivers for the network adapter from either a disk that came with the PC or download them from the manufacturers web site

A good solution is to go to:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Install the software, free for private use, and run. The report you get back is comprehensive to say the least. It will tell you the details of your motherboard, BIOS, the hardware which is connected to the PC, and even all the serial numbers or keys used to install your purchased software. Throughout it gives versions of the software installed, so you can see if you have the latest version.

It is worth printing out the report and putting it to one side in case you ever need to rebild your PC.

This software has saved me hours of work in the past.
