"Brake Fault" on message centre
I may be panicing over nothing but today when I started up I had the message Brake fault flash up on the message centre but it went off after a couple of seconds, this has happened once before and each time after heavy rain. The brakes feel fine they pulled up nice and evenly and even the ABS was working even though I had not intended to try it, a lorry clipped a traffic cone on the A45 just before the M45 roundabout and it ended up just infront of me  I have not had the message since. I have had all the wheels off, all the brake pads are fine there is also plenty of fluid in the master cylinder Has anybody else suffered such a message after heavy rain or have I got to look a little deeper.

I got this just once, when I started up and braked when reversing into my driveway - however all is fine, and it has never come up since ... (it was raining at the time too??).

only reference i could find in the owners hand book relates to brake fluid/electronic distribution failure, but also says you should have a warning light with it.
Attachment 1165 hope this will give you a starting point for further investigation Rob |

You could possibly have a very small crack in Sensor Lead which when very wet could give a False signal.
But I'm with Christopher on this one, If no other warning Lamp and now clear, forget it till it becomes traceable. |

I've had several 75's have the 1 second brake warning !
No fault codes were generated and the Main agent says it's common with no cure. The monitiring system is just too sensitive. "Only worry if the brake warning stays on" were the service managers words.
