Default Paint repair tips

As my car is running perfectly and I seem to have run out of things to do to it in my spare time, I decided to tackle a few of the minor stone chips and scratches.

So having rubbed down the damaged areas and touching in with the touch up paint i am unsure as to what step to take next. I have rubbed down the new paint with 2000 wet and dry which has left an even finish but the paint is now left looking kind of dull and scuffed.

So my question is, do I need to do anything before I apply the laquer and will the laquer bring the paint lustre back and leave it all shiney and new again?

Any tips appreciated.

when you apply the laquer the shine will come back, when it has had a day or two to dry you can use T cut to blend it all in and then just polish.

Cheers Tony. Wasn't sure if I needed to use any polishing pastes or whatever before I put on laquer.

I don't know how we missed that one. Above mentioned thread is now stuck for future reference.
