Default 1.8 Spark Plug Gap

Hi All,

I don't access to a Haynes Manual at the Moment.

Does anyone know the spark plug gap for my 1.8 75 please.

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hi Simon, standard gap is 1,00 +- 0.05 mm

If you are not using standard plugs I would suggest you use the specific manufacturers instructions.

0.037 - 0.041 ins. in old money

You're joking of course. Rover 75 owners aren't expected to do things with spark plugs! They're not even listed in the Index.

Spark plugs. . !

The Platinum Plugs and many others should not be altered at all anyway, these days.

Just what I was going to say. I've always been a tad confused when owners ask re plug gaps as new plugs should be ready straight from the box?

Spark plugs. . !
Is that right?

I'm only a few weeks into ownership and loving it.
Done the filter etc, but the plugs seemed OK so haven't got to them yet.
I assumed the gap would be listed in the owner's manual, as per every other car I have owned.
