Avro Lancaster Haynes Manual
For all you plane enthusiasts out there. Full product specification here Plus a special offer: You can get the above book for just £14.99 with free P&P when you order direct from Haynes. Just quote code "LA" when ordering. I do not have any affiliation with Haynes and I don't any commission from sharing this information. I just saw it in one of my fathers aeroplane magazines and thought that some of you would be interested too. |

Notice they do one for the Spitfire as well
Don't mind using haynes as a guide on a car but not sure I'd want to trust one on a plane though. Will make some interesting reading, may be tempted to get one. Russ

Wonder if the RAF Battle of Britain Flight has one?
Another thought, don't Haynes say that they write their manuals based on obtaining an example of the subject, taking it apart, and reassembling it. Perhaps they got the Lanc on Ebay................... |

It's often said that RAF aircraft maintenance manuals are sometimes lacking in detail, but Haynes would take the cake!
"Simply remove the No 3 engine..." "Installation of No 3 engine is reverse of the above" |

I've seen that one too. Thought it was an amusing "novelty" at the time.
Or "this work is best carried out by a specialised AVRO dealership"

Or in case of the Spitfire all models 1937- 0n ( except Griffon engined variants)
Which is pretty typical of the manuals for some of the cars I've had. AFAIK the Old flying machine company will build you an as new Spitfire if you've the money, if so then this book could be for you! Russ

Hey, I'm sure Podge could do a How To for us, so we could ignore Mr Haynes.
If we ask nicely he might do a brake disc replacement on a 747 How To as well. |
