Fitted a new MAF today. I've been meaning to sort it out for ages now as I've known it's been out of spec since I got the tourer remapped by Big Russ.
I'd unplugged it a while ago, as per lots of threads on here, but I noticed that the engine had become noisier on acceleration, and there was a noticeable increase in fumes outside the car. Anyway, after reading MarinaBrian's advice about compatible inserts, I bought one and it's been a revelation Smoother power delivery, much less fumes and a much quieter, less 'tappety' engine on acceleration. The only thing I've got now is a slightly vibey idle, as if it's 100 revs or so too low, but that's not adjustable IIRC. MOT time tomorrow so fingers crossed.

I cleaned the front end and engine bay of my Blue ZT, and also remove slam panel catches and polished them up.
Also removed the slam panel rubbers and cleaned them, but have had to order some new (little Clips) for £9.99 from Rimmers Needed a couple as some had broken, so ordered 13 new one's, and will refit rubber when they arrived Stu Last edited by Fusilier; 27th March 2017 at 17:22.. |

Could not resist as it was a lovely evening
Bumble got a clean and polish with Collonite 476 ... first time I have used it and am very impressed, very easy to apply and buff off.

Did the preparation for the conversion of the bumpers. In front there will be a Roewe 750 bumper and grille, at the back a MK2 bumper, 75 badge and boot plinth.
1. First the plinth: 2. And the badge: 3. This is the 750 bumper, now without grilles etc, ready for the new paint 4. And got this bumper of a scrapyard, the PDC has some defect. Will fix that this week, and than it's ready for the paintjob as well!

Last night, after work, I washed AND waxed my car! I got the pressure washer on it to remove all the little bits of green moss around the chrome trims and between panels, and I blasted the wheels clean, and then I dried it off, and applied actual turtle wax and buffed it up!
Haven;t waxed a car in years. I forgot what a pain it is. That's it now. It'll do for the rest of my ownership! |

Service for the old v6 today.
Plus cambelt kit and water pump . Old water pump had some of the impeller missing. One belt was lose and one roller was on its way out. Car was doing 21 to 25 mpg round town when it went in. Now up to 27mpg. Temp goes up quick in traffic now. And his left me with a plug around the battery that he don't know where from. So guess I'm playing hunt the plug tomorrow as no codes are showing up Last edited by Steve42; 28th March 2017 at 17:55.. Reason: Wrong mpg |
