Default Bulb Failure Warning

I recently replaced the 2 side light bulbs as 1 was blown, but now I have failure for both side lights even though they're both working!

They're not LED ones so I don't know why they're giving an error?

Should I replace them with the 'Error Free' LED ones off the bay?

Thanks

Strange one this..

Perhaps backtrack and fit a differant pair of bulbs to see if it will iliminate the fault, try your error free LEDs.

I have ordered some of the error free ones as they're so cheap. I don't think the problem is with the contacts as there was only 1 erroring yesterday (because bulb was genuinely blown) but now both are, and they kind of flicker a little....

Are you sure it is the tail filaments actually lighting up. The 75 can light up the brake lights dimly to replace failed tail bulb filaments.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

It is on the front of the car. I have just re-read what I wrote and am not sure I suggested it was the rear?

You didn't - I made an assumption, because so many fall for the same trick of the car.

Is it the matrix display, which identifies the actual locaction of the failed lamp, or are you just seeing a basic - 'lamp has failed warning'.

In other words is it definitely identifying a front sidelight, rather than a lamp fault?

Hi Harry, sorry hope I didn't come across as belligerent

It says lamp warning and then when I switch off the car it says both front side light bulbs and shows a picture of them...

I will have some error free LEDs delivered tomorrow, so hopefully that will fix

Thanks

That probably means it has registered a fault, even if they are working when you get out and check. Sounds as if you have a bad / intermittent connection. I take it these are filament lamps?

You mentioned possibly buying some Can-Bus LED's. The none can-bus ones will trigger faults constantly.

Hi Harry

I have got CANBUS ones on the way

There may be an intermittent connection but I am thinking these filament ones aren't right for the car as I had 1 warning when I had the blown bulb and with these I have 2!

I'll report back tomorrow once these LED ones are fitted

Thanks
