Like you I never make them Dave, if you want to do something then just do it. Five years ago I stopped smoking which I had wanted too for a long time, but only when the time was right for me and it worked. No nicotine patches or weaning myself off them slowly, I put some weight on but lost it slowly.

I've never been one for new years resolutions, up until 2015/2016 switch over.
But for 2016 I resolved to adopt a healthier life style, eat more veg, reduce alcohol intake, smoke less cigars.
I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not but in October 2016 I ended up in hospital with a near death experience and I'm still in hospital recovering.
As said it's probably coincidence but I've decided no more resolutions for me!

I may try and persuade the wife into buying a Land/Range Rover SWMBO wants a Nissan CUBE, or CUBIC 7 seater (they do look cool). We will most probably still have the Galaxy this time next year, as we cant seem to agree on the next motor. lol

I'm still chuffed with myself after losing 6 stone 2 years ago, the weight seemed to have crept up on me without me knowing, but I've kept all 6 stone off and we're 2 years on.

It was January 6th 2015 that I change my lifestyle, best thing I ever done. I went from 18.5 stone, down to 12.5 stone in just 6 months, just by cutting out SUGAR and larger.

Our shopping bill is £40 cheaper each week, has been for 2 years. 52 weeks x2 is a whopping £4,160 saving.

My new years resolution was to think well of Nick Clegg, and drink less McEwans Champion, sadly I have failed on both counts.

Mate you must have done more than just cut out sugar and lager to lose that amount of weight in such a short time..???...

Nope! All I did was to cut out all sugary foods, and alcohol. I did go running two miles every evening, but only for the first 4 weeks. I lost one stone each month, I was overeating, and eating all the wrong foods. I went from eating 3500 calories per day to just 1200 and the weight just fell off. I went from a size 44" waist, back to a 36" waist in 6 months, honestly that is the truth.

I slowly introduced the calories back into my diet each week to stabilize my weight, it was certainly hard for the first 2 months to keep such a low calorie count, the side-effects from cutting out sugar were quite hard to adapt to, but quickly overcome using ones willpower.

My diet would still consist of bread, milk and cheese, I simply adore bread, carbohydrates are not the problem, sugar is the killer. I used to be a chocoholic, but I have not eaten chocolate for two whole years, and that is the truth, and I dont smoke either.

You can come visit and ask all family and friends, they will confirm and give you the story as I have, and then some most probably.

Start the day with a good warm bowl of porridge with a banana sliced in, even through the summer months. No sugary cereals, no waffles, no pancakes or massive fry-ups, well! maybe once or twice.
