This saloon is the first time I've had a rear sunblind - I'm in gadget heaven

The rear sunblind tends to get very little use, so it's worth running it up and down now and again to stop it getting gummed up.

I would like to set my ipk to 30, I can get it to disay 0, I assume you then press the stalk to adjust in 10 mph increments but my display just goes blank?

I just learned something about the speed warning .. you can turn off the alert ..

from the handbook

Overspeed (‘Speed limit’)*
The overspeed warning function is an aid to keeping within
speed limits set by the driver. Press and hold the trip computer
button to increase the set speed by increments of 5 mph (5
km/h). Whenever the set speed is exceeded an audible
warning will sound and the set speed will be displayed in the
message centre.
Once a speed has been set, the warning can be turned on or
off by BRIEFLY pressing the trip reset button (this will not
reset the trip meter).
Warning messages
A warning message will override the trip computer display. If
a warning message is received while the trip computer is in
use, the trip feature will be replaced by the warning message.
Pressing the trip computer button (on the end of the left-hand
column stalk) will return the display to the trip computer
feature that was active before the warning message was
received.
If the fault responsible for the warning message continues to
exist, the trip computer will time out every 20 seconds and
the warning message will be displayed again.

Interestingly the data sent to the IPK, on the" Overspeed" seems to be more accurate than the speedo.

So, if your "over speed" bongs at 70mph, your speedo is probably reading around 75 mph.

There is two sets of data sent via the IPK. You can check it via 7.3 and 7.4 in diagnostics mode.
The over speed warning, which collects data the same as the odometer, is more accurate than the speedo which over reads by roughly around 10%

generally a speedo will show you going a little faster than you actually are

I read somewhere is so you dont sue the speedo manufacturer if you get done for speeding so they set them a little faster to account for any inacuracy .... how true this is i dont know

Certainly is the case in my car, with a speedo over read of around 10%.

Compared to gaps in variosbhire cars, around 4-7%

Tire size and inflation pressure will play a part too

I find this feature particularly useful in areas with lower speed limits with risk of speed cameras, just use the stalk so figure in display screen is same as speed limit.
