Anyone help in viewing a car near to Exeter?
Any possibility of someone giving this car the once over? Its just outside Exeter, I live near to Brighton and have had several false starts in attempting a viewing. Including today. Which may be a factor in the garage listing on Autotrader. I have made direct enquiries to a couple of people in the area regarding their assistance without success. So I throw open a general request.

Weekend bump. Anybody passing?
Just would like some idea of the state of the bodywork/underneath/interior furnishings/type of radio (Iovox or Highline). An owner's impression sort of thing. It's an eight hour round trip for me and family circumstances mitigate against such an ad hoc trip. Mechanicals will be what they'll be after an MoT. |

Hi,
Why not ask Exeter Road Garage (MGR X part Dealers) to check the car out for you, they are Club members and while you will have to pay them, you will know for sure if it's any good? Tom.

Not to worry. I did make a direct approach and now have made a general request. However the South West is a large rural region with longish travelling times. I'll have to make a judgement call. My natural caution means I like to see what I'm buying. Superficially it looks a reasonable car despite the poor photographs. He's had the vehicle for a while. Either traffic is slow or it's not a great purchase.

You can use that to your advantage when negotiating. We see our cars with rose tinted glasses and not how joe public see's them.
The car dealer is probably thinking I have a car from a defunked car company that nobody wants!

Hi David,
Have you sorted this or do you still need someone to view the car ? I'm currently waiting on a customer job confirmation, but might be in the Exeter area tomorrow afternoon if I get the ok. Let me know, cheers

Whist you will have to pay for their service they could probably negotiate a discount that would cover their costs. Of course they could say the car is a load of rubbish in which case, paying for their advice could save you from an expensive mistake. |
