Default Help Please

Hi All,
I have recently purchased from radioguy the latest double din head unit with satnav, TV, USB, Micro SD, ipod and am very pleased with it.
However, not being able to afford an ipod, I decided to record some music on a usb stick. I have tried recording as mp3 and as wma but when plugged into the head unit nothing is recognised. I have also purchased a micro sd card for this purpose.
Can anyone advise please?
Many thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,
What size stick are you using?
I think the maximum size is 32gig that works reliably
Also have you formatted it to fat32?
It doesn't work on Ntfs so you may need to change the format Sir.
Hope that helps, same advice for the micro sd card as well

Hi Jeff,
Thanks very much for the swift reply.
It is only a very small stick 128MB, but I didn't realise it had to be fat32 formatted. All I did was right click on it in my 'computer' and select format, so I really don't know what method was used, not sure I'd know how to tell.

hi there put the stick into your pc, right click , go to properties, then you can format it there, just click on fat 32, then you can record from pc to the stick

Yes, I ought to have known that as I used to build computers.
Thanks anyway, much appreciated.

I would try mp3 files and copy the tracks into the root, not a folder and see if that works

Hi Jeff,
First I copied the files into the root in wma format on a newly fat32 fomatted usb stick with no joy. Next I reformatted the stick and loaded the files to the root as MP3, with exactly the same result.
What can I try next?
Thanks
Tom.

Is the unit 'seeing' the stick?
When you insert it what happens?
Could you record a short video on your phone of what is happening

Hi Jeff,
I'm afraid I don't have the ability to record a video on my phone.
When I plug the stick in the unit switches to usb with the large rotating search icon in the centre for a few seconds, then reverts to radio.
If I press the mode button the same thing happens again.
Best regards
Tom
