I use a 1D MKII N which has 2 card slots and 8 fps, it's on less than 8,000 actuations from new and I love it but I long for higher ISO use A second hand MK4 or 1DX is not an option so the 7D MKII is an interesting development.
That's you and me down as a maybe then Mark

I really wish it had wifi though, not for my Motorsport but for ease of use when taking the cat photos in the pens at the rescue
In an ideal ( plenty of money ) world I'd have a 70D for cat photos and the 7d Mk2 for Motorsport but that's wishful thinking so one body it is

Had a e mail from Wex photographic, think they are doing it with just short of one years interest free credit.

Looks a good camera in this niche specialist area of DSLR's which makes me think prices will be maintained for a good while yet, like the previous model was.

As you know Jeff I have immersed myself in all things Panasonic/Olympus with the micro 4/3rds system.

Very interesting article in this weeks AP about how the latest developments in 4K video does lend itself to still photography.

"The key point lies in the resolution - a 4K single frame contains 8 million pixels which is sufficient resolution to make a nice 12 x 8 print. Importantly todays cameras can capture at this resolution at 25 frames per second for tens of minutes at a time, allowing you to extract key frames specificially for use as still images."

Given that 8K video is in development, which equates to 33 million pixels per frame.

A few brave sport photographers have bought into the GH4.

I am convinced this will eventually revolutionise sports photography, a conservative bunch at the best of times when it comes to technology

Thing is for me Mark is that I enjoy being a keen amateur photographer, not fussed about being a videographer, it's not for me and taking a still from a video sequence doesn't equate to photography skill

There is always those that will want to take photos and not video so I don't see it changing, more that they will run along side each other with peeps choosing their methods and equipment choice

I paid around £1200 for my 7D body very soon after launch and it has only recently five years down the line dropped below £1000 body only so has held its value well.
Of course it will become a lot cheaper now it's been superseded but as you say the 7D mk2 isn't likely to drop by much, especially if it sells in significant numbers!
Still undecided as of yet and I'm in no hurry to rush into buying it especially as it will mean buying a new grip etc as well
