Kawasaki did the liquid cooling and overhead camshafts thing on a cruiser back in 1986. My VN750 is a real monster of a machine and the engine is just beautiful.

Honda C70, CG125, CX500, CB750, VF750F, Suzuki GSX750, Honda VTR1000, Yamaha Virago 1100, Vmax, Honda VTR1000.
Best bike: VTR. Worst: Virago. Most head-turny (and maddest) : Vmax. Worst quality (and blandest): GSX. No bike since 2018, sadly. I won't, but if I ever did it would be another VTR.

I also like the Enfields. But I prefer big bikes. My VN750 is such a monster that you feel a bad person just sitting on it. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=...AAAAAdAAAAABAD

All my life I’ve liked smaller bikes. Had two 500 cc, a beautiful new ‘76 Suzuki gt500 and more recently a ‘16 Honda cb500x. Other than that all the bikes and scooters have been smaller. Pick of the bunch a new ‘75 Honda cb200, a fantastic bike.
I have a Honda cbf250 now and find it can do anything you ask of it. 50-60 is sweet spot. Can overtake in 70s. For me lightness and low fuel consumption as paramount. |

I have to say being of the "older" generation I do like the look of Enfield range, especially the "Cafe Racer" bullet,

Forgot one! After I got married it was all four wheels but I got another bike a few years ago, early '80s Honda CB900F. Its a bike I'd always wanted but couldn't afford when they were new. Somewhat disappointed, handling was shocking, unbelievably top heavy.
