Front drop links
I replaced these two years ago because the rubbers had perished and attracted an MOT advisery. I now have a knocking from the front both sides and with the front wheel on full lock pushing and pulling the drop links I can just detect slight movement in the lower ball joint. would this be enough to cause the knocking which is most noticable over pot holed surfaces.

Mine have been replaced twice in the 9 years I've had the car - local garage says 75's eat them. But somebody suggested that they come without much grease, and adding some can help - I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment.
I've also had what I think was something around the balljoint go - it's a sort of pinchbolt thingy, and the hole it goes through can wear till it's oval. That's a much deeper clunking sound though, if that helps...

I asked a similar thing last week, about the best brand to buy. Got some useful advice on how to grease them.
