Default Budget Polisher

Anyone ever bought or know of someone who has purchased the electric polisher in the link below ?

I can't really afford one of the Megs G220 or something similar. I plan on getting an old panel from the breakers and practising till fully confident.

if you want to go rotary then ( i know you mentioned it) be sure to practice as in novice hands they can do big damage. That machine is heavy and doesnt have a soft start feature (where the speed builds gradually). The pads are total rubbish. for pratice use only. dont forget decent polishes will be £15 a bottle and if your doing swirl removal youll need a finishing polish as well as a mid level cutting polish. also youll need a polishing pad and finishing pad. have a look at the silverline polishers (orange ones the best) at www.kingdomtools.co.uk g220s look expensive but they are very user freindly and can be bought in complete kits.

Default Orbital polisher

My good lady has just bought me one of those for my recent birthday, after I went on for so long about an Ultimat Detailing Machine, so, (a) I'm a bit dissapointed to be honest, (b), I havent had the nuts to try it on my car yet and (c) the pads look a bit NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- so I wanted some advice about better ones.
Some of the head attachements have a threaded socket, others are velcro or similar fixing, but there are wierd black dimpled sponge pads the likes of which I've never seen before, oh and I've got some maguires liquid detailing stuff.

Advice greatly received

Andrew

the threaded "heads" sound like the backing plate. this screws into the machine then the velcro pads stick to it. as mentioned, if you can post a picture it'd be easier to see whats what.
