Question bonnet catches

What all has to be dismantled to replace the N/S bonnet catch on a 75?

I had this done recently, bumper off and horn and headlight. When fitting new catch not too tight and check movement by pulling cable, before closing bonnet.

Or, once you've got the bumper off, you could take off the crash bar, lights and slam panel in one so you can get at the catch at the angle that suits you rather than the one the car wants to dictate. Just be careful when reassembling as there are a few millimetres of play available which may result in your bonnet release claw(if you have one) snagging behind one of the grille bars.

from memory.bumper off, undo the bolts of top of slam panel. attach string to off side end of near side bonnet release cable, this will help pull the cable back to the junction box when you have finished

lift slam panel, takes some force. wangle out catch.

while you are doing this it may be worth replace both the offise and nearside bonnet release cables. i recently had one snap.
