Default handbrake nut

Would it matter if the adjuster nut on the handbrake does not have a captive washer ??

My cable had to be cut off due to and over enthusiastic previous owner winding it up !!

As they are not available new.....

Unless someone has a spare knocking around......ill just use a Nyloc nut and separate washer.

Couldn't see it being a problem whether the washer is captive or not. Its not going anywhere is it?

That's what I thought.

But I just wondered if there was a reason that we don't know of.

Knowing MGR a flanged nut was probably cheaper than a separate nut and washer!

LOL yes maybe.

I thought it might be something really obscure like ....it prevents rattles when your compensator stretches too much LOL
