Default 1.8T oil feed pipe

There seems to be a division in whether or not the oil feed pipe should be changed or merely cleaned out ?

I know they're not mega money, just wondering what the view is ?

I guess you mean the tubocharger feed. Some turbo manufacturers insist that a new pipe's fitted to underpin their warranty. It depends on whether this applies. If not, I can see no obvious reason why a thoroughly cleaned used pipe shouldn't be used. There's nothing special about the internals that would compromise this. A long soak in paraffin, white spirit, etc. followed with a good flush through with lots of clean solvent should do the trick. A new pipe costs around £40 as I recall so it's something to consider.

I'm fitting a far east cartridge so warranty isn't an issue,

The assumption is that a turbo always fails after HGF at some point as there's water in the oil that the turbo bearings don't like it

Like you I can't see that a good clean out won't be enough. Same as priming the oil ways before first start up
