Can anyone confirm if the top bleed screw can seep water? Im losing 1/2 a litre a week or 3 and no obvious signs of where its going! Checked oil etc and the V between the cylinders etc. Upgraded thermo etc done but get the sound of air in heater when I start the car from cold. No over heating, I can give the car a good thrash but Im going by putting water in the rad top until it stays on the mad bit which is about 3mm from near low?
I can smell coolant but only minimal damp on the screw mentioned? |

Loosing Coolant
Sean
Just a suggestion, but you could have a damaged water pump, and maybe loosing it through there. I had that problem about 3 years ago, and had to have a new water pump fitted, even though the one I had was only about 15 months old, which was fitted when I had the belt done. Stu |

Sean,
After working on the cooling system did you remember to raise the expansion tank as far as it will go whilst performing the venting process? Simon.

Probably already checked, but metal coolant pipes on the subframe are a week spot, but perhaps not yet on an 04. Worth a check.

Thanks all, will get it looked at on Satdee. Cant see any puddles etc but can smell anti freeze. Perhaps something is going on behind the engine covers.
