Might be worth trying to contact him some how? but right at the moment Josh idea sounds good, maybe the garage have flipped the seal if so they need to check and put it right surely.

Hello again Mats,

The correct bleeding sequence specified by MGR to which I was referring is:
  1. NSR
  2. OSR
  3. NSF
  4. OSF
You do not need a T4 or any other diagnostic equipment to bleed the brakes (source: MG Rover Workshop Manual, Service Procedures).
The system has to be fail safe; in other words if a fault were to develop in the modulator, brake fluid must pass through it normally and unhindered. It follows from that that it is not necessary or desirable to activate any pumps or valves within the modulator during bleeding.

If the brakes were working when you drive it in and they aren't now then chances are it is something that the garage has done to cause the problem. How can the pipes be dry when fresh fluid displaces the old fluid when brakes are bled properly? Can you get the car trailered to a garage that knows what they are doing?

I managed to get the car to John @ MGR MOT & Auto Services in Blaydon and he sorted me out.

Faulty ABS module and he changed the master brake cylinder.

Again, not quite sure how it all came about but glad it got sorted!

Wow, that must have cost you.

It's strange isn't it how you had no ABS warning light yet the modulator apparently was faulty which happened to coincide with your garage bleeding the brakes.

Interesting - I had similar on my first 45, which was down to a faulty Master Cylinder.
The brakes in these cars are twin circuit - meaning opposite corners are paired together for safety reasons.
Sounds like one of the circuits has failed (usually a Master Cylinder seal) - but glad it's all sorted now.
