It's not necessary to change the arm but the bushes can be a PITA to get off. I cut the rubber with a wire saw first and removed the outer (after removing the bolts obviously) and then managed to tap off the inner (after cleaning and lubricating the arm). Some have resorted to an angle grinder, taking care not to damage the arm in the process.

If you are referring to the wishbone, they can go through several sets of rear bushes and do 100k more than your mileage before the wishbone packs in. 63k is low mileage to be replacing wishbones.

My wishbones are still original at 115k miles , but I have renewed the rubber bushes twice ! No problems removing them ; they effectively fell off .
If you do change the wishbones I very much doubt they will be as good as the originals . If it aint broke , don't fix it ………..

As above, even though I really rate our wishbones I'd still stick with the originals as long as you can.
On a brighter note, the set of bushes I fitted to a 75 are still looking good 70,000 miles later - she popped in for a service this afternoon. Private hire taxi, still going strong on over 200k.
