Far more likely to be the bearing's magnetic strip at fault than the ABS modulator.

You say front sensor fault - left or right? But if your speedometer is working you can rule out the front right. If your cruise is working (if got) that's the front left.

Not an easy job replacing the bearing but easier and cheaper than the ABS modulator.

Regards

ps. Not unknown for even new sensors to be defective or require "shaving" to fit properly.

Ah did the bearing too, it'd been some years and I went the whole hog cleaning everything out. Wondering if there's air in the ABS module and the lack of a self test is because its air-locked/hydraulic failure. I used TOAF and left sensors always up, no other brake faults. I burst rear brake lines a couple of years ago am wondering if there's an excess of air in the ABS unit? No self-test light on at ignition and no going off. But with the wiring smashed and reconnected using spade connectors I was wondering about line voltages and resistances as well. I'd be obliged is anyone who knows lets me know how to bleed the system using TOAF.

Well I'm in a tizzy now, are the rear codes reversed? I thought black stripe went to black stripe but had to use a rear connector for the front to replace smashed one.

That changes everything, ABS self test works and ABS light off, start engine and about 6s later ABS lamp back on. TOAF shows no faults?
Worth bleeding system using TOAF?
