Silicone and door cards? lol....
Dont bodge it. Take the card off, see if the actual CARD is ****ed, and if so you can either buy a brand new one for £90 odd, or find a decent 2nd hand one. Good luck with the latter option, most people cant remove them without cracking the fragile little welded rivet things. (takes much practice) All the clips are available new, but be prepared, they are STIFF. When re-fitting, NEVER slam the outside of the bucket bit at the front, put your hand in and press from INSIDE, otherwise you just break the plastic where its fitted together at the back. I think a lot of people do this, and probably dont even realise they are actually breaking their door-cards. If you have ever experienced a new door card (which comes with all the fittings), it is quite something, SO tight to the door, rattle free, and quite an improvement. Depends if you think its worth ~£90 for a new one. |

Another source of rattle could be the door pins. I also had a rattle on my rear doors caused by the waist rail trim crumbling away (the black edge between the card and window). Only way to fix that rattle was to replace the trim.

Hi, I had the same, it was the door pins, I pulled the pin up slightly and wrapped some clear vinyl (off cuts from a local vehicle sign writer) around the part that goes through the door card, job done no more rattles 😉

It could be rattly window syndrome perhaps? The glass against the rubber seals can often make a dreadful racket.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution to solve this, but I'm sure someone here will. |
